Overview of Facilities

The Fox River Water Reclamation District operates three wastewater treatment plants, currently providing treatment to over 26 million gallons of wastewater per day (MGD) and one drinking water plant.

SOUTH SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT:
Design average flow is 25 MGD. Current average daily flow is 18 MGD, including approximately 0.7 MGD of industrial wastewater.

Biosolids are the solid byproduct of the wastewater treatment process. Biosolids have been stabilized and pathogens have been severely reduced to levels permitted by State and Federal regulations for use as an agricultural soil additive. The Fox River Water Reclamation District's central biosolids processing facility is located at the South Plant. FRWRD produced about 17,000 cubic yards of biosolids from the four wastewater treatment plants in the year 2000. All of the biosolids produced by FRWRD are beneficially re-used.

NORTH SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT:
Design average flow is 7.75 MGD. Current average daily flow is 6 MGD, including approximately 0.7 MGD of industrial wastewater.

WEST SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT:
Design average flow is 5 MGD. Current average daily flow is 2 MGD, including approximately 0.1 MGD of industrial wastewater.

SKYLINE DRINKING WATER PLANT:
Design average flow is 0.25 MGD. Current average daily flow is 0.05 MGD. This plant serves only residential customers.
