FRWRD's laboratory has the capacity of analyzing
a wide variety of parameters in samples of industrial and domestic
wastes, sludges and soils, surface and drinking water.
The primary functions of the laboratory are to provide quality control
data to ensure the proper operation of FRWRD's four treatment plants,
and to provide the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency with the
analysis of our plant effluent that guarantee the water quality of the
Fox River is being preserved. The FRWRD laboratory is also a commercial
laboratory, providing service to industry, other municipalities, and
the public.
The FRWRD laboratory analytical capabilities include, but are not limited
to the analyses of water, wastewater and sludges for the following:
- Oxygen demand
- Residues
- Ammonia
- Nitrogenous compounds
- Phosphorous
- Fecal bacteria
- Oils & Grease
- 21 metals
- 13 phenolic compounds
- 22 pesticides
- 55 semi-volatile organic compounds
- 57 volatile organic compounds
- Identification of over 100,000 organic compounds
